I am in love with words
silent words

my pleasure wrapped in her words

she is the words she writes
words that sing to me
in still moments

I submerge myself
in the words she writes
her words
become my words

though she may never know
and if she knew
would she not laugh
to see this old fool a slave to words
her words

or would she not take in hand her voodoo pen
to taunt me tease me tantalize me with
words
words
words

My favorite aspect of this poem is "though she may never know." I love the idea of unintentional effect - real and substantive, moving and good. Love the form and style here, Gene.

ahhhh those silent words that are, after all, no more than the flash of a pair of gleaming eyes or the hint of a smile - or, better still, whole conversations that wander through cherished synapses of our neural passageways. I do hope these silent words buy your train ticket to Penn Street Station one of these days, Gene, when the quietest of wordsmiths are in town! There may be a gathering of female quivering quills one of these days... voodoo like to join us?! :)) xx

She works the shadows of the mind with total abandon and disregard for the intendeds emotions. Her verbiage carries the curse of pseudo affections. Her words paint his soul in the color of mystique and spin his emotions like a centrifuge from hell. She'll not dwell long with him, just toy with him. When infatuation has him mesmerized she uses punctuation to abruptly halt the charade and break his heart. Voodoo words to taunt him with voodoo love. Gene, I know this woman that haunts the nights with poetic flourishes. Beware! I bid you love and peace my dear friend. Jon Michael

the mystical power of verse, lesser-magic as its called (greater magic being ritualized sending of blessings, curses, etc.), the power to command, misdirect, enchant, wielded with a sorcerer's stylus, deep and moving, captivating, slips inside the open mouth, takes control, announces: "I'm here!" great piece gene, one of my favorites.

I know the wordsmith of whom you write! She may not be the same tantalizer as yours but she does the same to me! Gene this is an excellent write!

oh this is getting my attention Gene
Words Words Words...they are delish!!
May I cast a spell of my words on you too?
Can I spill some rhythm and some rhyme too?
Can we read together and experience the nectarous rolls
off our tongues too?
Am I asking for to much?

There are tributes of all sorts and love poems aplenty
but none quite like this, Gene,
