Unaware of borders, marked by hand of man I wandered thru my wary woods, into an unknown land I supped on fruits that glistened, by nectar ripened sweet Drank the purest waters, then dreamt on verdant sheets
All I've never thought of, soon became my own Cherished and protected.....I knew this land as home Every wish was granted.....tho never did I ask Humbled by such kindness...I thought this home...my last
Then the winds grew icy, with blades of muted frost No harvest did I gather.....I hungered all I lost Shocked by desolation...loneliness...and ruin Yet none could see my folly, but the man up in the moon
Lost within this darkness, by voice did I appeal To character unvarnished... to show me what was real World now deadly silent, devoid of love and light By lunacy of folly...I cry alone... each night

Aw Anita...don't stay lost in your wary woods which have led to your unknownness but follow your own knowledge's path back to safe, bounded pastures! Self-exploration is, indeed, a risky business and can be fun, fun, fun... until you've perhaps scraped the barrel and have found that back at Square 1 was maybe not such a bad place to be after all! Loved this unique perspective... maybe ignorance is bliss after all, rather than setting out to pursue our sense of the unknown. Wonderfully balanced rhythm, rhyme, stanzas - everything! Perfect poetry, in fact, which is no less than we have come to expect from your perspicacious pen! Kate xx

A delight to read, it allowed the mind to wander and become as one with this fine poem. Perfection. Except, maybe "Yet none could see my folly, but the man (up) in the moon." Is it just me or would the verse be better served without the word "up?"
