For S, the unwanted messenger

SCORED AND SLICED

At times indifference would imply
The HOPLESSNESS our words deny
While posture forms with confidence
We play our days......with deference

Control the wind? Oh I think NOT!!
For mortals yearn for misbegot
And cry sweet acid tears of blame
To pass their pain.....and ease their shame

When fruit is dulcet....harvest ripe
The slice of truth would juice the knife
Precision trim down to the core
The hand that cuts.........will keep the score

For I am unskilled in the game
And have not armor from your pain
For lack of guile by defence
I wish.......we all had........better sense

With reluctant and uncomfortable thanks

A

Peace

Lady,

You are the quintessential poet, beautifully presented with outstanding meter and rhyme and thought provoking message enclosed in such a clever way--the lessons will linger a while, thank you--to repeat you, "I WISH I'D WRITTEN THIS!!" Well done!

((((HUGS)))) and love, and continued prayers, Karla. :)

"When fruit is dulcet....harvest ripe

An image worthy of Herrick or Lovelace. You are in the great tradition of the Cavalier poets.

Lady once more you assault our senses with your tragic passionate writing. A gret job here. Also it was nice to see your pic on the profile you are as lovely as you write.

I've said for years and years, that common sense is not a strong suit in the human condition... and we keep going back for more.

Good poem...I like your rhyme. Good title too.
