The miracle is not to fly in the air, or to walk on the water, but to walk on the earth. ~Chinese Proverb

Immortal Liberty

Deployed for months..... on the endless sea
All the crew waiting, for Sweet liberty!
Docked along the Hudson, in good ole NYC (NEW YORK CITY)
Whiplash and wolf whistles for ladies pretty!

Off to Broadway for a show or two
Then up to the top for a Trade Tower view
Want to root for the Yankee's before this is through
Gonna bite the Big Apple and get drunk with the crew!

So much to see! And so little time!
This sure ain't Nebraska, but it will do FINE!
After k rations on the open sea......
Its fillet mignon and cherries jubilee!!

Shopping for nonsense with money galore
Blinded by Times Square, crowed with stores
Hookers on corners, with quick sex for sale
Got to avoid them, and stay out of jail!

Everythings moving so very fast
Trashing the Guide Book, so tired at last
Time to recoup, time to chill out
Want to sit down, and just lounge about

Turn down a side street, empty and calm
See a used bookstore, named "Fortune's Time Bomb"
Looks like its empty except for its stock
Feet are now aching, its time for drydock

Everythings dusty and musty in here
Books to the rafters, from many a year
Where should one start? This selection immense!
Orgasmic OD for the visual sense!

Drawn to a shelf in the back of the store
With only one book, its cover all wore
Title now vanished, perhaps due to age
Opening itself, to one special page!!!

Letters so strange, from unspecified times
Incredibly read, by this sailor's fine mind
He sat in a chair, as the book flew to him
As the future and past was blended and spinned!

The story it told, gave him chill to the bone
Whispers by spirits, he was not alone
The shop was still empty, then through the closed door
A mysterious spectre, with gold eyes to die for!

With no will of his own, he felt himself rise
Through portals he passed, so sensationalized!
Views of the past, whirled by his minds eye
His spirit, now captive, bound and shanghaied!

Do you remember, that night on the sea?
The waves so enormous, the winds blowing free?
Did your ears hear my song in the night?
You know that they did! And it caused you some fright!

Listen again, as I sing it for you
Ancient soul....My Love..... this is not your debut!
You knew me before, when earth was so wild
We glided down rainbows, Natures Love Child!

The man cleared his mind, and the spirit took rein
He saw their beginnings as the lady explained
She had been waiting for many a year
In this dusty old bookstore, for the one she revered

We made a promise, when life was so fresh
To somehow unite, when our spirits took flesh
But somehow I lost direction and aim
As you became mortal, and I stayed the same

Come to me now! Lets soar in the sky
To your earthly body, just bid goodbye!
Life can be yours, without any scars
As anchorless spirits, the mundane looks bizarre

Given the choice to leave this land
Transcending the boundaries of mortal man
Unencumbered and free beyond the wildest of dreams
The life of this mortal, now seen as blaspheme

The bookstore now empty, except for some bags
Left in the corner, along with dog tags
Did this sailor return to the open sea
Or had he chosen.........Immortal liberty?

Mariard Volume 1 The gifting by Christine Jones

Born of their seeds, kingdom will rise against kingdom, one will hold great mysteries, one will turn the tide and one will not be bound. War is fought, not only on the field but also within the mind. Nothing is what it seems take nothing for granted.
