When youth was mine, my eager heart, voyaged toward the soul,
To find the better part of me, to evolve into a whole.
Close perhaps, but never quite obtaining spiritual connection,
I cannot hear, or feel, or see, the entity, perfection.

Spirit gently leading by the hand to guide my way,
I ventured forward, unafraid; seeking God of prey.
Overcoming obstacles, I hoped I'd never know,
Determined to continue, despite life's painful blows.

Time has taken toll, my journey started long ago,
Empty pages of a journal, my own emptiness to show.
I tire of chasing spiritual truths, for answers never found,
In a life of searching for a sign, where nothingness resounds.
