The Stars Beneath My Feet

~ THE STARS BENEATH MY FEET ~

 

I gaze into the evening sky,
And see the twinkling stars.
Like diamonds dancing in the night,
Performing from afar.



Oh so many for my eyes,
To take in every one.
A sparkling blanket covered earth,
Until the night is done.


The universe so round and plump,
Revolving out in space.
Looks just like any other star,
In any other place.



But underneath the turning sphere,
Is more of what's on top!
More sparkling, twinkling, dancing stars,
Beneath my shoes and socks.


I cannot see the stars below,
But still the stars are there.
Shinning just as brightly,
In the darkened blue mid-air.



Surrounding our own universe,
While I am fast asleep,
Dreaming of the shooting stars,
That shine beneath my feet.
