The Other Woman

I've puzzled and puzzled until my puzzler was sore,

Then I thought of something that I hadn't before,

It’s only DV who knows the whole score,

And it had to be she who called her a _______.

I send her the updates between lawyer and me,

She's there in the mix, yes, DV makes three,

She knows all the numbers; she knows all the dates,

And it had to be she who could be so irate.

I don't think unkindly of that misguided girl,

I truly believe that her head's in a whirl,

Wining, and dining, and swimming in money,

She really believes she has found her true honey.

'Else where is the logic, that I don't get,

To sign land and deed to a man she just met?

For the property changed hands a long time ago:

When one knew the other only a month or so.

It is all in his pocket, land, name, and key,

Yet it is she who pays his fees!

Jewels, clothes and cruises, with smiles galore,

No, dear friend, I did not call her a _______.

E-mails with DV, we concur back and fore,

She's scoured his records ‘til she couldn't do more,

Yes DV wrote that, she called her a ________,

Believe me when I tell you, all of this I deplore!

You've encapsulated wit, anger, disgust, irritation and a hankering for retribution in this piece. Reminds me of a quote from Joseph Conrad: "Being a woman is a terribly difficult task, since it consists principally in dealing with men." Bemoan, bewail, lament... it's a good way to flush the s___t out of the pipes. Best rant I've read in a while. r
