Don’t Love the Most

Events occur endlessly to make you react

And the way that you do, is often abstract

There is but yourself in this world which we live

Take from the giver, till there’s no more to give

Hear what I’m saying, and think your life through

Whatever you’re doing is all up to you

Get control of your demon, and look at its face

Love it or leave it, but put it in its place

It’s all about love, a little is best

The more it consumes you, the greater the test

The events that occur in an ordinary day

With someone you love in an ordinary way

Make choices easy, your peace is not affected

There’s minimal hurt in being rejected

But commit your mind, your heart and soul

Give your love with no control

When a crossroad appears in your fragile love

The edge is near, and here comes the shove

The pain that will come, from whatever you choose

Will hurt with a vengeance, you can’t help but lose

The scars run so deep, they are hard to forget

Future love is doomed ‘cos it’s fed with regret

Love someone whose love, is greater than yours

Who will guide you, through all of life’s corridors

And if your love taunts you, day after day

Let them, have the pain, and just walk away
