Conditions lay on us by the times
Are very much askew and shaky.
If these conditions have allowed us
To act in the world on a big scale,
We would have brought back
The state of unity without a trace
Being perceived of how we do so. . .
When these conditions shut us up
From our hasty actions, we strike
Our roots even much deeper
In ourselves, being perfectly still
And waited. It's thus that we preserve
The marvellous ways of Nature
In our own personalities until eternity.
Even though we perceive within ourselves at times to be true to nature's calling; we are merely actors on that much talked about stage. I liked this poem, it gives a person much to think about.
I agree that understanding and following the ways of nature is probably the best course for us. Every time we drive to defy the natural course of things we end up getting in serious trouble.
For example, the nuclear arms race just got hotter. Not from North Korea, but from Russia. What will the end of this race be… An explosion?
Indeed we do live in "shaky times" with conditions unique. If we keep in tune with "the marvelous ways of Nature" and bring ourselves back to our center, then perhaps we can realize "the unity" all around us that you speak of in this poem.
For the reasons I describe in this book, the world-wide suffering, death and extinction of humanity is very likely to occur, unless nonviolent and democratically determined radical and revolutionary personal and societal actions and changes are taken
