By going back to their roots --
Your distinctive character
Is to break down all attitudes
That prevent you from taking
The middle way -- a due resolution.
Embracing contradictions,
You thus make a synthesis
Of their reverse sides;
Achieving equilibrium on line
Between the night and daytime,
You penetrate in the deep cave of time.
Once you're on friendly terms with time,
There's no one who would dare
To opposite you. As a saying runs,
'One who is good at shooting
Does never hit the center of the mark.'
The three great religions speak of the same thing, "the middle way", "the narrow path", "the straight path". As for time, I don't think we are ever on "friendly terms." It's eternity that will hopefully welcome us with open arms.
