Faith is a funny (strange) thing, isn't it? I like the way you open the poem raising the question about our rights to faith: Is it ours. Then the realization that we need faith and it needs to be ours. An interesting write, Alex. Questions that force us to question ourselves.
My father was a very Christian man and brought me up teaching me wonderful things from the Bible and we went as a family every Sunday to church after I went to Sunday School. I didn't learn anything bad. My mother still believed in the old ways a bit (they were both from Finland)but we'd talk about those things while father was our of hearing range. I find God in nature and the night time sky.....All good stuff from her as well. Who's to say? 'Enjoyed, Alex!
Sometimes when children are born the family decides on their faiths, but it would be nice if the parents would let the children decide for themselves. Faith can come on to a person at any time any age. It's what that person believes that counts.
