The Gray Silhouette
It’s early light.
The blinds are drawn,
but try as they may,
they’re unable to hold back
the cheerful sunbeams.
A gray silhouette of Old Glory
wafts in the gentle breeze
against the gleaming window
of my favorite room.
Then, once again
patriotism overflows,
and my head bows
in a moment of reverence
to my beloved USA.
