A Talk With God

Heavenly Father,
Help me to endure these perilous storms
We are compelled to weather.
Our country—our world—is spiraling
Into a broad abyss of defeat.
You tried to lead us
Along the pathway of righteousness,
But evil tempted us to travel another road.
We now see evil as good and good as evil.
Our backs have turned from You.
Hence, it seems You have reciprocated.
I’m begging:  Reach out to us!
Shelter us in Your Mighty Hands,
And protect us from evil once more.
Heavenly Father,
On a more personal level,
I request that You guide my path,
To become the individual You want me to be.
Hold onto me with Your Powerful Hands,
And prevent evil from charming me into doing wrong.
You are my Strength, my Hope, my All.
