She paints her face with haunted souls
Eye to eye with visions rolled
Early world; destroyed by trust
Knife with which she cannot thrust
Bullet which she cannot kiss
Ropes with which she cannot miss
Pills that neither fade nor ease
Fumes that this world can’t appease
So she pains the life she’s forced to lead
Parents cry and babies bleed
Soldiers die and for no cause
Hope erased - a world at loss
No night goes on without her cry
Too much at stake for her to die
Faith is lost, she knows that now
Can’t remember her last vow
Lowered head no longer worth
Good is lost, an evil birth
Clasped hands weakened to her shame
Satan and her kind the same
For which is worse - one child, no faith
Or one who’s life Devil has taken
She weeps for Him because she knows
Her faith lost is heart to close
For if she can’t love Him, who else can?
How sad to know no love by woman
Not quite failure; genocide
Of a man who’s God’s love won’t decide
She fears for Him; and so cries, too
For the man who loved and was loved through
Hands of hate restrict her breath
Fearful she won’t know ‘til Death
She calls upon her strength and prays:
"Save thyself the pain endured
My love is no more ensured
I fear your pain and worry you;
If I’m to die, then you’ll die, too
Leave your heart a moment’s spare
Go not where your mankind dares
Leave us with our hate and greed
Let us go where our paths lead
Please don’t hurt you soul for us
Faith has all but turned to dust
I pray thee, save thyself the pain
Of seeing true love being slain
I know your disappointment new
I’ve lost my faith - not love - in you."
But though she felt a loss for him
She couldn’t disappoint again
She vowed a life of constant pain
Until she found her faith again
Though never loved by another man
She rests her head in her faith's hands
She’ll love him to the very end
Until perhaps they walk again
For now she cries for Man’s lost soul
Wherever He is, she’ll follow
She looks for love more men can’t show
And will tell her Man if He should go:
"Seek love in me and I in you
"I know unfaith I can’t undo
"Only you can make You And Me
"And I am to my beloved, as my beloved is to me."
