My very first poem inspired by 9/11. Mychal F. Judge, OFM (born Robert Emmet Judge on May 11, 1933; died September 11, 2001) was a Roman Catholic priest of the Franciscan Order of Friars Minor, Chaplain of the Fire Department of New York, and the first recorded victim of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

A MAN OF THE CLOTH GIVING LAST RITES, TALKING TO HIS GOD BECAME A GUARDIAN ANGEL THAT DAY. LIFTED BY FIREMEN, TEARS STREAMING DOWN THEIR FACES, AS THEY LAY THE BODY OF AN ANGEL, ONTO THE ALTAR OF THE NEARBY CHURCH. A GUARDIAN ANGEL WILL ALWAYS HOVER ABOVE THE PILE KNOWN AS GROUND ZERO, WATCHING OVER THE SOULS OF THOSE HE LOVES AS TEARS SPILL DOWN HIS CHEEKS. 09/17/01 SUSAN BERGERON
