Walls.

Distance insurmountable
Keeping us accountable
Safety such as OSHA would approve.
Will we get to Heaven just
Because of walls we couldn't bust
And distance that we both could not remove?

Forbidden love is bittersweet
For lovers who will never meet,
Condemned to lead a life of climbing walls.
And yearning like we can't believe
For love we never will receive-
A tragedy until the curtain falls.

I wish I had an answer but-
I think I feel it in my gut,
There's no way out, our fate is locked and sealed.
Two lovers dream from separate shores
And ponder what each heart adores.
How much that we can take will be revealed.

A love like this will not give up
But keeps on drinking from the cup,
No matter the effects of such a brew.
If we can conquer time and space
And dream about that better place
There has to be a plan for me and you
