Let Go

I’ve let it go, this won’t drag on.
Another dream has come and gone.
I want these things with all my might
So I can’t see what’s in plain sight.

There’s nothing left but be confused.
Where love could be I’m only used.
At least this time I saw it first
And covered when the bubble burst.

I wonder why this had to be-
My seeing what I want to see.
And why you let it go so far.
I never could know who you are.

You had your chance but played a game
That left me like a snuffed out flame.
So even if you don’t smell smoke
It’s over now, and that’s no joke,
