Now I’m Scared

It’s nothing new, I’ve loved and lost before
And should expect to lose at love some more,
But something’s different, now because it’s you
To lose, I fear, I never could get through.

To ever find angelic love like this-
The steaks so high, can it be hit or miss?
You’ve reached the deepest part of me I’ve known.
How could I live if now I’m left alone?

There’d be no point in trying love again
When all my heart could do is think of when
We spent the day together, you and me-
And I discovered just what love could be.

There’s nothing at a time like this to say.
I’ve dreamed and wished, but now I have to pray
For this is deeper than I’ve ever been
It’s life itself I’m trying now to win.

This just is not at all like all the rest,
This time I feel my heart has found the best.
We win this now, or never play the game.
I have to ask you, do you feel the same?

I hope she does, John.
This is a beautifully written, emotional poem.
Love comes and goes, but gets better each time.
