My Dear Sweetie,
I like what you have said about wishing you were the girl next door.
6 years old, and you come over and ask if John can come out and play.
We go hunting for frogs during the day, catching fire flies at night.
I show you shooting stars, you show me where the rabbit hole is and we watch a family being born.
School gets us busy, different friends, different directions-but sometimes we have a Saturday picnic like we used to do. We joke about the frogs. Some real
adventures with the huge bullfrogs.
One Friday evening you sit out on your front porch, I swing in a swing from the front Oak tree. You think about the dance coming up.
Earlier you asked me if I was going. I said no. I look over at you sitting there. I remember you asked me.
I think about the frog adventures, laughing with you all the time, the time I fell and you got my Dad to come help. I needed stitches for that one.
I keep looking at you sitting there. Were you always this beautiful?
Maybe you would like to go to the dance. It couldn't hurt if I asked.
Happily ever after?
Let's take good care of these kids, they need us.
