Every Precious Child

A plea against child abuse which comes in so many forms.

Every Precious Child

Each being given to draw breath

From the magnificent sphere of this world

Is precious, coming from that which may be precious.

It must be faced, just because of their infinite value

There are children that must be rescued from their own origin.

I will not be one to tell a child God put him or her in Hell.

Some children must also be rescued from that God.

What so many people are calling the answer

Is but an added dimension to the problem.

Every precious child…

Plenty of us would never let a child cry alone.

Plenty of us would pick up the wonder

 And love it into smiles.

Why do so many spend their time

Asking and asking and asking

The God that doesn’t know as well as we do

To love…every precious child?

John H. Bidwell

I am not a perfect parent, but this is why I adopt...because every child deserves a family who loves them. Every child is unique and precious...

I searched for years for the answer to my question to God: "Why do you allow small, innocent children to suffer horrible diseases and abuse, they are innocent, why God?"

I received my answer a few weeks ago and I wrote a poem about it, the poem is called "God Is Not The Source of Evil," and it is on AD if you care to check it out . . . My mind is at peace, the question has finally been answered / That does not help the innocent children who have to go through their formative years treated in such a way, however . . .

You are so right John, as I played with, laughed with and hugged my little granddaughter today it was all I could do to keep from bursting from love for her...how can the abuse be allowed to go on of the innocents.

It's rare that a child will be bad without being taught,to be.I applaud men and women who feel they should not be parents, so they don't have children. There are so many confused, used, abused children, reared by parents who haven't a clue what to do. Besides the other reasons for problem children. They are as you say John, "precious" and if they were treated that way we would have a much less troubled world. Splendid poem,John!

your words do entice one to do some intense pondering, to question their own beliefs but for the safety of a child there is no question there, children are the product of love in one form or another and should be respected and treated as a special being to grant them a good foundaton for life. so many treat them as a commodity to do with as they please and that is a crime, we have enough problems in this world without creating more from abuse of a precious child. good write, i enjoyed the moment of pondering.
