Why Am I Here?

A shooting star, a whippoorwill, a howling wolf- and me…

An ocean breeze, a baby’s laugh, and all that’s meant to be…

The love of God is hidden like the life beneath the sea-

But I was born to feel it- and He handed me the key.

The love that you keep hiding in your fear there’s nothing more-

Is everywhere in everything to open up that door…

Between your life and Heaven there’s a bridge you can’t ignore-

And I am on it reaching- it is what I came here for.

My eyes can be the mirror that can show you what you are-

A precious child, an angel- can’t you see you’ve come so far?

I’m plucking on the heart strings of a mystical guitar-

I’m here because you wished for me upon your favorite star.

 So rise to the occasion- you were born to know this grace-

Just take my hand and dance with me around our perfect place-

Your tears have been for something, as I wipe them from your face…

There’s nothing else that matters but the dreams that we embrace.
