Only Moments

A car goes by, I turn around-
The window down, I heard a sound-
The music that we used to play-
It all comes back to me today.

Reminders of that love we had-
I’m smiling; one would think I’m glad-
But I’m just lost in moment’s past-
Of heart felt whispers, “What a blast.”

I see you as you were each night
We danced and held each other tight-
Believing life was something more
Than only moments gone before.

I’ll take them with me- to the grave,
They’re only moments, I’ll behave…
As time is just a one way street-
But oh, those moments were so sweet.

Lovely piece of nostalgia here, John. Bittersweet memories...those long ago days seemed so much less stressful than life is today.

Wow John, this one definately made me look back and think of how great youth was...the Beatles, the Stones, Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys, Meatloaf...wow that music still brings my feet to moving. Well done my friend.
