Passing Feeling

I had this passing feeling, but I had to let it go-
And maybe should apologize, but honestly don’t know.
If all things have a reason I don’t see why it should be
That such a passing feeling would have ever come to me.

A pretty face like sunshine, and a heart of purest gold-
And something so familiar in a story seldom told.
I guess I’m so susceptible; my heart’s an open door
That lets in passing feelings as it’s often done before.

I know there’s something missing, but just what- I can not say...
The thing that almost touched me right before it passed away-
Into that realm of darkness where it all becomes a blur,
And nine times out of ten that passing feeling must be her.

So please, just keep on smiling, don’t look back, there’s nothing here-
Another passing feeling, and for me- another tear.
I don’t know where you’re headed, but I know I’ll always care…
And hope you know the feeling; if you need me I’ll be there.

I could have just "spoken" these words, John. I can completely relate and empathize. Love and peace to you,

Regis

The feelings never really go, they just sneak up on you when triggered by a scent, a song or a lapse of forgetting. A lovely reflection John...

I love the ethereal quality of this John ~
It's a charmer full of sadness and yet I feel there is the wit too!
Eloquently solemn is what I think I am trying to say, and happy middle of the night...I couldn't sleep and came down to read. I was pleasantly surprised to find one by you.

Blessings,
Christine
