You Can’t Reach The Pain

You can’t ever reach the pain my lifetime’s given me,
It’s not that we don’t love each other- good as it can be…
We are more than moments, and my past has taught me blue-
I’m not even asking for the best that you can do.

Let’s just keep on dancing, let the moonlight and the stars
Reflect on eyes that love each other, never mind the scars-
And sometimes, when I’m looking at a place you cannot go-
I only ask you hold me, love is all you need to know.

I’ve lived enough to know life doesn’t always go our way,
And sometimes what I’m dreaming has to be another day…
When all the love we’re giving just can’t take away the pain-
I do believe in time the love is all that will remain.

When the fog is heavy I’m so thankful for your hand,
And know that it will lift someday so you will understand,
That you do have the best of me, the pain you can not touch
Is part of all the reasons I am loving you so much.
