Repost
People have posted poems titled "Words" today- so I thought I'd repost mine.

Words.

It was all the words I so desperately wanted to hear,
Wanted to believe, wanted to live...
“Honey, sweetheart, love, the greatest,”
And you said them first.
What did you think they would do to me?
Go in one ear and out the other?
Is that what they did to you
When I said them back?
Now, now, don’t go getting all upset.
This is just another poem.
What’s one more?
It’s what we poets do...
We put ourselves through the ringer
Believing people we love.
Let me tell you one thing though...
I am not going to learn a single thing from this.
I just wonder what it did for you
Learning how I feel.

I just wonder what it did for you
Learning how I feel.

Blessings dear John and may you continue to write those WORDS!!!
Hugs..

Words are often meant wholeheartedly when said, but sadly, feelings and emotions can change, and this is something that often we have no control over...Very few intentionally do this to hurt...Take the happiness from it, store it away as a treasure, and look for Rainbows again...

Some poets write from the mind others from the heart, when we write from the heart our poetry becomes a partof us and a part of those who read us. Sounds like you write from the heart as well old buddy.

John, What you did for me is let me know I'm not alone!! Getting our feelings out through our words will help heal the pain...Your words are special because they came from your heart! A great poet you are my friend. Wishing you only love, and happiness! ~Chessly

This poem is heartbreakingly sad, John.
I know you as a companion and your words are such a gift, wise council, protection, blessings, humor, pupose, passion, friendship, helping to define meaningfulness. They are never just words.
Mine too.
