This Temporary Life

I never see or hear from others
As they scurry across this temporary life-
About Rapture.
About falling to one’s knees
And clinging to earth
Beneath a flashover-
The blaze of glory called love.
But you and I…
We fought dragons together.
When I look back
At the crazy kids we were-
I just love them.
I love them with all my heart.
It never left me…
The Rapture.
And you never let me go.
You kept me in the safest place of all,
Your heart.
So every day- I wake up and love you.
I am a knight in shining armor,
A dragon slayer.
Even if I just pick up litter
I'll make this world, this life, more beautiful
Because it is yours.
