What am I?

I’m not a god- or an angel with wings-
You say you love me, and how my heart sings
Then you need something that’s out of my hands-
Mind says “Impossible” heart understands.

Need is the issue, and what does that mean?
Grab me a tissue and try to come clean.
Love isn’t magic, it’s something more real-
Not always “yes” that the heart will reveal.

Worlds of such meaning, the yesses and no’s-
One life too small for the way the heart grows.
Maybe your wanting was born just too soon-
Stand under starry skies- look at the moon.

Then when you’re thinking that all should transcend-
Look at me loving you, call me your friend-
Let it all go something much grater’s planned.
Looking for miracles? Just take my hand.

People want and expect too much. All we need is a helping hand, a touch.

Your love poems are the best. But between your yeses, the dos (nose, knows?) some of the best rhyming I've seen here.

Your words strike an authenticity about just being
human in our relationships…we listen, we care, we struggle, but the
gift is in learning, living and understanding…
sometimes however, just being trusted is all we require…

“Looking for miracles? Just take my hand.”

A unique and perfect last line…

A great poem…

Love, hearts and being human is rarely simple and straight forward. Personalities, situations and so many other factors play into relationships...things the heart sometimes cannot comprehend. Well said John.
