Always

Always Been

She’s always been- the way we were-
Though oh so far away-
But life just points the way to her-
I notice every day

That all I see to touch my heart
Was always in her smile.
Forget this time that we’re apart-
Can’t even be a mile.

She’s always been- it will not change-
A lost enchanted land,
Where all is magic, never strange-
And I can take her hand.

My memories go back too far-
A child who sometimes cried,
And all that love is what we are
Still singing deep inside.

I’ve always been this way somehow
And she just somehow knew.
Will time that we have left allow
What we were meant to do?

She’s always been- I’ll let it go-
And trust what’s meant to be,
For right there in her heart I know
There is a place for me.

"What comes from the heart touches the heart.". Your words are a perfect example of trying to keep it together while one is moving on. A very wise woman would have told you this, "Make a gratitude list.". She sure told me when I would get depressed thinking about the mistakes I made in the past. It works, my friend.

Love ya!

Sounds like my partner. She has a big heart with me and it so deep that I will never leave her mind. A beautiful poem with lots of depth to it. Always enjoy your lovely poetry.

It looks like you and I were singing from the same melancholy
source. Truth be told, my dentist uses the expression "in a perfect world" a lot. I'll tell her after she reads my ditty. Then I send her over to read yours. I'm trying to be helpful, John. =smiles=

And I can completely relate and empathize with such thoughts and emotions. Love and peace to you, John,
