Too late for pride, you took it all away.
And how I’ve cried for you- but not today.
My comfort when you get confused by men
Can only let my heart be used again.
You never knew with me just what you had,
But I am through not seeing when I’m sad.
Our love was fate; we only get one chance.
You would not wait, and now I can not dance.
I can’t because I know it isn’t true ,
For if it was you wouldn’t love him too.
Not ever could he draw you from my side,
And yet he would, and we must be denied.
So now you’ve learned that everything was wrong.
God- how I yearned, and gave you every song
That I could find so deep inside my heart.
You didn’t mind, but broke it all apart.
Just think again, true love does ask a lot.
And you’ve known men, but not the love I’ve got.
You turned from me- when I would love you still,
To fantasy that never did fulfill.
For me to know the choice that you would make,
As I would go and walk around my lake,
With all I said, you made me be a ghost-
Without you, dead- the one who loved you most.

Echoes of this ghost are like lives of past excellent emotions and truths.
So very sad. Some people don't know love when they see it. Wonderful write.

Sounds like my ex wife who thought that life was a fairytale. She missed out on the true love that was shown her.

ravishingly beautiful..there is so much innate passion here..yet to whom will it be given..indeed SHE has forfeited your love..now she's out in the cold..hmm..it seems she's still deeply imbedded in your heart..allow yourself to forget.and be done...open up to new waves of love that will soon be upon you...;)
