A poem of desire. How achingly beautiful love is but also so hauntingly painful in its loss.
ELUSIVE LOVE
A ghostly orb in liquid midnight floats As silvery caresses of faint fingers touch Thoughts sigh from a soul thus inspired And desires to grasp and then to clutch
Elusive still as the morning mist that floats Lying in wait for the tender breath of dawn As raging passion beneath the surface lies Thus ostensibly thwarted, she feels forlorn
Time, a celestial clock - mocks as it moves And night’s cloak is torn in fragments of day Mantilla of stars, fades in the light of the morn Hope lifts in colour and then pales to gray
The dusk settles, uneasy upon furrowed brow Enslaved to this master with love as her yoke She wrestles with blades that slice at her heart And burning, the sky is obscured by the smoke
Thoughts sigh from a soul thus inspired
And desires to grasp and then to clutch...
As raging passion beneath the surface lies
Chanti, that about says it all!

This is excellent. I would like to point out one thing, though... "Mantilla of stars, fade in the light of the morn" should be "Mantilla... fades (with an "s"). I enjoyed it VERY much.
