The entire poem is a metaphor for my life. Seek meaning in it and you will find it.

Behold, enchanted lake where a ripple

seldom disturbs the mirror surface

Pits deep enough to imprison

fire-breathing dragons,

and shadows that seem darker and deeper

than an endless abyss

Undisturbed until cleft open

as cataclysmic eruption occurs

then volcanic fissure after fissure spews out it's lava

and a thundering storm

rips through  the pregnant sky

A landscape of moods

inexplicably changed

I stand, nostrils straining wide,

and swallowing the wind

as the dying light of day

casts shadows on the altered scene

Behold in change, I am made new...

Superbly introspective and expressive so that others may know you. The symbolism enhances the meaning. Dearest Chanti, you are a beautiful poet and I am honored to have met you. Love.

An excellent, excellent piece, Chanti. I love the change in font size, it so helps to deliver the message. I especially like this:
"I stand, nostrils straining wide,
and swallowing the wind
as the dying light of day
casts shadows on the altered scene"

Good work, my friend!

Chanti,

I read a lot into it not just your words but the use of font size as well and then the photo. It almost scared me, I saw so much. Even though the last line in the poem is a 'positive' expression there is a lot of altering as in the line b4 that to get to a good place. OK, I am confusing myself as well. lol I know what I mean, I just am having a hard time communicating effectively. OOO, one last thing the color of the type says a lot too. OK, I'll shoosh for now. ;) Take care my lovely friend.

"Stillness erupts" and its transforming power is felt through the lines of its stanzas... Rich imagery and profound message.

I have read a poetic-philosophical masterpiece.
