Mad Race

Something I wrote many many moons ago but have resurrected to place here.

Riding along an empty road
Dark into dark a white line goes
Eyes fixed, I stare ahead
to a point beyond the horizon
Body on autopilot
I float and glide
Lean into the curves
Machine follows
There is a place where I can go
Where pain no longer matters
Time moves slow
I feel invincible
Nothing can harm me
The air rushes past me
and whips my hair around my face
I revel in the feeling
of this mad race
I do not know where I am going
How can I be more lost than lost?
A real adventure begins
When you do not know
your destination
or where your journey ends
Fear can only be conquered
when it is stared at in the face
Spit upon
Treated with disdain
A real hero feels the fear
and does it anyway

How can we be more lost than lost is a good question, but in this world to day many times I am more lost than lost and then a fear within comes.
Interesting write for sure you have done

To face our fears, hidden and otherwise, is fundamental to one's spiritual evolution. Well said, Chanti. Enjoyed the read.

Breathtaking...a vast scope of emotions...written in your
inimitable, timeless style. I could feel both the wind and
the fear, in my own nostrils.

Excellent work, Poet. So very true Chanti, for some days are easier than others, yet, one must forge ahead no matter what the circumstances. I live by the motto, “get busy living or get busy dying.” I chose to stick around as long as I am able to breathe on my own, if not, then by all means, pull the plug. Thanks for sharing your remarkable talent. May the winds of change always flow easily through your hair, my friend. Hope you feel better soon.

P.S. I’d love to know how far out of the ballpark I was on that poem, “The Kill?”
