Looking for love in all the wrong places. Sometimes when we find our soul mate, we spend the rest of our lives looking for qualities of that person in others. Is this what happened here? I wrote this for a friend.

Searching Lover...

You looked for her in countless different places
You saw a whisper here and there
Love elusive as the mist in the valley
Beyond your grasp
A vapour lost

Your heart it burned and yearned for passion
A longing to reach out and touch
But now a heart is slowly breaking
No understanding of the cost

The red-hot sun slides from its hiding place
The ashen sky begins to slowly burn
An indigo hue has turned to violet
From a rose tint, then to blue

Another watches from a high up window
Rapunzel in her towering turret room
she scans the world below and sighs
But there is yet no sign of you

The melancholy elicited by your wondrous verses bring tears to my eyes and a yearning to bring healing in my soul, Chanti. I would love to say so much more. Love.

A scarred heart is what you wind up with,
but you still go on searching and why not?

This one is excellent Chanti.
You captured this so well. We cannot let go and, instead of going on in our lifes, spend them with searching for something that will never excist anymore the way we used to have it.
We should learn our lesson and move on.

Chanti, this is an exceptionally well-written thought-provoking write, Poet. The open ended statement attached above lead me to really search out my inner most thoughts, which has resulted in my statement I feel I need to address this powerful piece. Poet, I believe when one truly feels in their heart they found their soul mate, but then unfortunately something unforeseen happens and that relationship is no longer a viable option for whatever reason, I would think when one felt comfortable enough, hopefully will begin the process again, and should search the world over if necessary, in their quest to find someone with the similar qualities. After all my friend, the one searching knows what inspired them in the first place. Yet, no one can ever replace that person. But, I also believe true love and harmony can be found again. Also if one is able, they’ll do what is necessary to fulfill that aspiration. But, that and seventy-five cents will buy your friend a small cup of coffee, and do I hope they find what they’re looking for. Tell your friend, my friend, NEVER SURRENDER! For without the hope of finding someone worthy, why bother sticking around to watch the end of the big show! Absolutely brilliant composition and artwork, Poet! Thank you for sharing your timeless creations. Take care my friend.

Simply beautiful, Chanti...and the graphic is ideal for
the thoughts expressed here.
Yes...all of us seem to have this flaw at times...don't we?
And the sad part is, that while we are searching for that
special someone, the wrong ones come in and take advantage.

Dearest Chanti,

I know that we talk on a daily basis, and like you have said on some occasions, of not needing to comment ~~~ But I know you will understand the reasons why I was drawn to this one in particular!!!

This one truly cuts like a knife, aahh the bitter sweet!! two lines that really touch me:

"An indigo hue has turned to violet
From a rose tint, then to blue"

Thanks for posting this Chants, an exquisite write, and a very notable point.

Much love my precious friend
