A message of hope for a soul in torment. Another sonnet. This time written in traditional English style (sometimes known as Shakespearean).

Poem Artwork

Sonnet #1

Appearing hard as marble cracked by cares.

An alchemy of changing moods that squall.

The deliquescence of the masks she wears,

reveal the fearful face she hides from all.

The hurt that bound a tender soul in chains,

ingested deep within her battered heart.

Her purity delivered to the stains

of roaring sea and flood where these depart.

He smiled and caused the waves to rise and swell

and freed from all restraint the churning sea.

Though He had seen the evidence of hell,

His mind t'was set upon the goal to free.

This soul no longer drowned by evil flood

is brought to stately temple by His blood

Hi Chanti,
I was drawn to your site, as one of my friends mixed up your name with mine recently :)
So here I am, and I was drawn to this write first.
Yes it screams, like we do, when we need deliverance from the evil that binds us..
Beautiful work

Chanti? Sometimes, I too have trouble finding the words to describe how much I like something I read. This is one of them. Very well done.

Chanti, so often, one must scream out loud in order to release the wicked demons that plague the inner spirit due to living in a world gone mad! I enjoyed this piece, although I wish human beings would never have to go through any rough times. An excellent job. Thanks for sharing your talent. Take care and be well.

I know I am somewhat biased but I think this sonnet is superbly created. I find them so difficult to put together that I don't even try. This is inspirational and has profound significance for all; a wonderful creation, Chanti. Much love to you. Regis

This is, at once, both heartrending, and hopeful. Simply beautiful. I must endeavour to write more sonnets, for they do sing to the soul and speek deeply to the heart. -- Jeff

Chanti...oh...oh...oh...
I am virtually speechless at the magnificence of this
deeply moving write!
The graphic gives added depth, but, even without it,
this would be a most stirring write.
Kudos, sweet lady!

Enjoyed the reading of this ENGLISH SONNET. It flows in harmony throughot its lines. Its closing lines are very impressive in beauty of the major art.

Keep writing, Poet!

Awesome write! I love what you have done with sonnet. The torment she experienced can be felt in your words, as well as the mercy that was bestowed upon her. Sonnets in Shakesperean style are by far my favorite. Thanks for sharing this one.
