Just thinking about how precious life is... You only realise how much so when you come close to losing it. A Happy Easter to you all!

Shadows at my feet...

I want to live
and breathe
to gulp clean air
deep…deep
into my lungs
To have the energy
to run
and play
Laughing
with tickling,
twirling leaves
The lambent
touch of sunlight
tracing my form
and teasing the
dark shadows
that chase after
my feet

I only hope our children will be privileged to enjoy a world even half as lovely as the world we have known, for I fear it will be twice as terrible. All we need is love. Pierre

This is extraordinary, Chanti!! I cannot believe that I have not already reviewed this, as I was thinking of the very visual second half of this poem only yesterday, allowing its beauty and inspiration to settle into my own bones to fuel whatever it might within ME!! "The lambent touch of sunlight tracing my form and teasing the dark shadows that chase after my feet" - so playful and free and the idea of something I would like to toy with myself!! Those sensuous and laughing words have stayed with me. Just delightful, thank you. And as always, Chanti, you just take my breath away with your glowing appreciations of my work... I am just speechless with such feeling. I can really never thank you enough for so building my self-esteem. Bless you always. Love and prayers, Kate xx

Lovely, Chanti. Its only natural to want to affirm life as we see others infirm, and return to the sweet innocence of youth when touched by sadness and helplessness...

Chanti once again you capture the uncapturable. The childlike innocence of the little things we forget to love and enjoy. This poem triggered a lot of memories of simple day to day things that we forget or refuse to enjoy as we get older. Thank you for the reminder.
