To bed alone...

Just another one of those nights...
I'll feel better in the morning. ;)

It's a kind of loneliness
that defies explanation
Even in the midst of a social whirl
and surrounded by people
I feel so very alone.
How much more when I come home?

I ache to feel your arms around me,
and to kiss your lips.
I crave the feel of your body
pressed firm against mine
Skin to skin...
To make love
until all our passion is spent
and then to fall asleep
entwined
like a pair of kittens

We did not too long ago...

I remember well
Waking to your scent
Looking at your face -
so boyish in slumber
and smiling to myself
Content

How hard it is to go to bed alone
holding tight to memories
and a teddy bear
(Tonight in tears)
I pray to God each time
and hope with all my heart
He hears...

Wow, so many reviews. I guess we all can relate.
I find myself once again alone. I hope life allows me to share that with someone again one day. If not, I won't live for an eternity...
it will just seem that way.

Chanti, this is such a beautiful poetic description of what goes on in the mind and heart when we are missing our other half, that special person who completes who we are. You are so right, it's "the kind of lonliness that defies explanation." Well done!

Of kittens and teddy bears, this shows so distinctly the innocence yet the challenge of being apart from the ones we love, romantical as well as familial. blessin's,

How hauntingly beautiful ~Chanti. You don't write often, but when you do, you blow my mind away with your discriptive verse! The bed is no place to be alone, sleep on the couch. Reserve that space for someone to share it with. I pray God sends you someone to share your space real soon. Woman was not meant to be alone. (in my opinion!)

My my, you have captured something that was reverberating around my own head. Distance is a difficult one to overcome, carrying on in the everyday, feeling alone in a crowd whilst your heart is somewhere else,...hmm not an easy task or theme...but ...loneliness is a cold bedmate so cuddle teddy and hold tight to those warm memories, they do help you to sleep and new ones are just around the corner. Beautifully written. Panda :)x
