Feather Falling

Where has it gone this life of mine,
young, I thought it would last forever,
there seemed to be so much time,
but life is a gently falling feather.

Expending moments falling to the ground,
sometimes appearing to suspend in air,
it flutters for awhile then falls with a frown,
for life is not lived on an easy chair.

It begins its’ journey so pure and white,
but ever changing it turns shades of brown,
searching for the light in the darkness night,
in its’ youth it sometimes acts like a clown.

Test of the storms cleanses the simple being,
searching to find happiness and true love,
striving for peace and harmony forever fleeing,
for the feather is still falling from above.

Oh where has it gone this life of mine,
reflecting back on memories past I see,
ground is approaching, running out of time,
realizing that the simple feather is really me.
