Your High and Then you Die

Lost to drugs you’ll surely die,
world of endless deceit and lies,
without ever understanding why,
untrusting souls with many eyes.

Promises of this and that are made,
in search of substance to get high,
with a needle forgets to be afraid,
love ones standing by can only cry.

In a world of fantasy and illusion,
drugs become one’s god of choice,
lost to reality living in confusion,
never listening to the inner voice.

Life without meaning or feelings,
wandering empty destine to roam,
hollow souls stealing and dealing,
no love, no life, and no real home.

Drugs are a journey to death’s door,
lost in the shadows of destiny’s wing,
wasted life, could be so much more,
death without meaning or anything.
