Inspired by Sara

Who will be the voice for me, the speechless victim?
I wasn't given a choice when you took my life.
I didn't give my permisssion for you to violate me.
I wasn't the person in the wrong.
What about my rights?
Will the protests of those who love me be louder than those protecting
the rights of the man who took my life?
Will it matter that I was defenseless, innocent, and alone?
Will it make a difference that I was a child in the hands of a psycho?
Who will care as time goes by?
Maybe the CSI or the police detective assigned to my case?
I am one among many victims
left speechless.
If I were your child, perhaps you would care.
I will spend eternity  trying to make people hear our silent voices.
