PERFECTION

Is it wrong to strive for perfection,
Painting it on everything we do?
Is it wrong to be a reflection,
Of everything we know to be true ?

I would like to see more clearly
Beyond the physicality of the world;
I would like to uncover more sincerely
The simple essence of the pearl.

Do I sometimes fall short of such precision?
Ask those around me the question.
Do I sometimes make a wrong decision?
I am open to honest suggestion.

Perfection is something that eludes us,
We are created weak and in haste.
Our consciousness sometimes deludes us,
We end up living our lives in waste.

Perfection is a cloak of many colors
We need to wear it like a king.
Imperfection drains our powers,
Striving for perfection feathers our wings.
