Time’s Seasons

Time’s seasons have their moment,
Highlighting the phases of the day,
Dawn’s awakening, meridian’s noon,
Twilight’s descent, night’s gloom.
Time’s moon always has something to say;
Time’s seasons never utter nay.

Dawn’s awakening lifts its eyes,
In a moment of pure surprise.
Who could have ever guessed,
This miracle on the world so blessed.
The faintest of light emerging,
To become a tidal wave surging.

Noon’s meridian marks midday,
When no shadow has its say.
The sun at its height casts a universal glow,
Light and warmth on the earth to bestow.
The counterpart to the dead of night,
When the sun sleeps deeply out of sight.

Twilight descends quietly in a hush,
As the sun descends swiftly in a rush.
All day long the sun has run its course,
Moving steadily with no remorse.
The light bids the day goodbye,
As darkness takes over the sky.

Night’s gloom blackens half the globe,
Covering its surface with an evening robe.
The deadly black cat of time’s seasons,
Fills the human heart with many reasons,
To wonder about the coming of the day,
Riding on phantom wings the night to slay.

Time’s moon always has something to say;
