It is just a cloudy day,
But the sun shines through pillows of cloud with a patchy light.
A wind blows from the North,
That hums a tune through the old fir trees in nearby sight.
A brook flows through a forest of swaying palms,
Murmuring a melodious chant of verses and psalms.
The birds take no notice of the weather,
But fly freely through the air, chirping through the heather.
All of nature seemed united with eyes raised,
In worshipping the Divinity and singing His praise.
Even on days like this,
Their trembling features are mixed with reverence and awe,
Unexpected beauty I never before took note of and saw.
Nature’s bounty lifts a veil from before our eyes;
For a brief moment, the cloudy day reveals where Heaven lies.
