When I am gone, these poems will summon me from the past;
Readers will again see what I saw, enduring images that last.
The freedom of eagles riding the wind with extended wings;
The seasons offering the pleasures that each of them brings.
Sturdy mountains capped in white and wrapped in eternity;
Swans floating quietly past lily pads in complete serenity.
Clouds pretending to be mountains vanish with the wind;
Butterflies hovering over buttercups with painted wings fringed.
It happened in some remote past, to be recreated in the present;
Future readers will wonder aloud if they seek a cause to resent.
We poets burn but briefly and have no cause for blame;
We record what we see and truly feel, it is all the same.
The words a calligraphy that amounts to ink on parchment;
Sounds that stir emotions to nurture the heart’s enrichment.
THE GIFT OF TOUCHING WITH WORDS, IN WHICHEVER WAY WE ARE INSPIRED TO, COMES FIRST FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE POET AND THEN OUR WRITINGS ARE THERE FOR OTHERS...FOR TODAY, TOMORROW OR, PERHAPS, TO THE END OF THE WORLD. AND GIVEN THE CONDITION OF OUR EARTH TODAY I DON'T THINK MY STATEMENT TO BE AT ALL UNREALISTIC. IN ANY CASE, YES, THANK GOD FOR EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THESE POEMS. THANK YOU, JOHN. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS
Most poems will sink into the obscurity of time. But there will be a few that ring a bell that will resound down through the ages as words of great import and resonance. Those are the gems we all seek as poets, to write.
yes, we all dream of a harmony and ourselves within it, there and then or in any times, ever. Of course, there is no cause for blame because it doesn't tie in the idealistic picture. A bucolic piece of poetry this is, but to recreate what is gone. . . what for? As is said, 'a new thing (perception) is always better than an old one if only it doesn't contain a method.' Cheers, alex
Welcome!
The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help.
