Life needs a reason,
As does harvest have a season,
A key tucked away in a pocket,
Idle for now, but never forgotten.
As vital to me as my inner eye,
That understands the reason why.
It lies there quietly inside.
When I need it, it opens wide.
Life has a reason;
It is there for the asking.
We live our lives day by day,
Without a moment to spare.
The spider spins its own thread
And lives along its own thin line.
The flower produces golden honey,
Safely protected by its pointed thorns.
Life finds a reason,
Where there was none before.
We think we go empty-handed,
Then find a reason on our own.
A reason can lie hidden the while,
A precious gem lodged in a rock.
With no reason, life is thrown away,
Because of a hole in the old sock.
Beware a life without a reason,
A precious gem never discovered.
Embedded within surrounding rock.
Think of a life without any true value;
Think of a life without any true hope.
Such reasons as love, loyalty, and trust,
A multitude of reasons can make a life,
To forge destiny with a sharpened knife.
Helping others is my reason and I'm sure of it. When I'm feeling low, it makes me feel good about myself although I know I would help people out anyhow. Doing so helps my purpose.
Waxing very philosophical. One of the most paradoxical questions. Sciences learning that life may be spontaneously created under common conditions throughout the ever changing and growing universe. Science is also learning that life's purpose is primarily to survive through some form of reproduction and conservation of the resources needed to survive. Pretty basic stuff that eliminates a lot of concern raised in the past.
To keep growing and be productive is my reason. I've known people who get stuck in a rut, and are content to stay there, and that's not only a shame but also a waste of life.
To live life without regard for love and its values is damned at the gates of that widening, dark crater called death. For love is the answer. First and foremost.
Yes, beware the life without a reason. Those so afflicted seem content to live upon the skirt tails of others, basking in and stealing much of their glory. As infuriating as they are I believe they are also to be pitied. Who can be happy without a purpose of their own?
and the reasons will come to you.
Those reasons that you cannot ignore
are your calling.
Love ya!
