What you want, what you need
Here before you, a growing seed
Lifts you up and sets you down
A thing lacking, a thing found
Sets you forward, holds you back
What I desire most is what I lack
Opens you up and closes you down
Morning awakening, nighttime frown
Everlasting happiness, eternal despair
A false attitude lies beyond any repair
All I ever wanted and all I will ever get
Trying to remember and trying to forget
At the end of my life may I be granted
My one final wish to die without regret
Delightful writing! "Regrets. I've had a few but then again too few to mention.........". ("My Way" written by Paul Anka for Frank Sinatra) comes to mind. Time will take care of time. 'Enjoyed!
I love the way it rhymes and flows, creating opposites as it goes. But in the end your true intention shows. That you have something that you regret and haven't resolved it yet.
Before you "shuffle off this mortal coil" I hope that you are able to feel that you have made amends and have no more regrets.
And yes, "...to die without regret," is definitely a need. Unfortunately, as your poem shows both in text and picture, the wants and needs get confusing often. I've found that to satisfy needs is far more rewarding than pursuing wants that aren't needs as well.
Love ya!
