Stolen Riches
By John Herlihy

They now lay in a room illuminated by a fire,
After the unexpected wild ferocity of the storm.
They were back again safe in their own cottage,
Lost in the cold like that, they could have died.
The blizzard did catch them like a wild animal,
Now they had their lives again after the fright.
The blinding blizzard left them lost outside home,
Chilled to the bone, sheets of snow filled the air.
The night lost its blackness in furious whiteness,
The wolf sounds of the night wind howled fear.

The treacherous night now tapped at the window.
They lay in a room illuminated by a fading fire.
Shadows on the wall seemed comforting after all.
As they lay there, they heard each other’s breath.
Each of them feeling alone before feeling together;
Each of them feeling content in each other’s arms.
Life is so precarious, it can disappear in a second;
Life is so precious, it gives moments never reckoned.
From now on, their every moment and every breath,
Stolen riches since the day they stole the life of death.

SINCE I AM MYSELF A PARTAKER OF THAT GREAT PURCHASE ON CALVARY CALLED, 'MERCY AND GRACE' AND AM A 'CREATURE FORGIVEN'...SO MANY,MANY TIMES, I 'FEEL' FOR THIS COUPLE AND CAN ONLY SAY;

IF A MAN DIES(SINS)...SHALL HE NOT LIVE AGAIN?
IS THERE NOT GRACE AND MERCY FOR EVERY VEND?
WHEN THE 'EDGE' OF OUR ARROGANCE HAS BEEN SOFTENED
BY PRAYER, WISDOM AND TIME
WHEN THE TURN TO HURT THE INNOCENT
HAS FLOW TO A PLACE...DISTANT
WHEN AT 'HIS' THRONE WE'VE CONFESSED
AND ACKNOWLEDGED 'WRONG'...AS 'MINE'
WHEN WE'VE BEEN FORGIVEN BY 'HIS' LOVE SUBLIME
AND TRY TO POINT DEAR ONES AWAY FROM...'DEATH' LINE
THEN WALLOW NOT IN THE 'STEAL' OF DEATH
BUT IN THE LIGHT OF HEAVEN'S PARDON...CIRCUMSPECT
WALK ON...CAREFULLY...REACHING BACK IN LOVE FOR ALL
WITH NO 'HIDDEN' BEREFT

WONDERFUL SHARING, JOHN, ENJOYED. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

I admire your ability to come up with new ideas every day. This is an example of your creativity. While I don't find this as emotionally charged as actually being caught in a blizzard and being unable to find your way, I do find it reaches that point at the end.
