The Voice of Future Past
By John Herlihy

Give me one last look,
Of the moment I forsook.
Give me one last breath,
Before I accept inevitable death.
Give me one last hope,
In the future there’s a rope.
Give me the energy to set forth,
Toward that signal star in the North.
Give me one last desire,
As I mount the funeral pyre.
Give me one last moment,
To bow my head in atonement.
I am the voice of future past,
Only the eternal moment will last.

SPOKEN LIKE A TRUE ADVENTURING SPIRIT THAT IS NEVER 'QUITE' SATISFIED....ALWAYS REACHING FOR SOMETHING NEW, WHILE REMEMBERING THE PAST AND SAVORING 'THE MOMENT' TOO. WELL DONE AND ENJOYED. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Although I see and fully appreciate your words here, for me, it would only be modified to say "Let me earn..." rather than "Give me.... Just a personal take on the wisdom that your writing imparts. Thank you for giving us some thoughts worth remembering.

Only the eternal moment is sedentary in this lifetime and the next. There is a book out there entitled "the seat of the soul" by Gary Zukav. A great book, if you get the chance to read it. Take care, have a wonderful day. Blessings John
