Time’s Facts and Fictions
By John Herlihy

Time’s illusion . . . .
That thinks it is still here.
Time’s anvil . . . .
That hammers out the moment dear.
Time’s arrow . . . .
That never hesitates and forever flies.
Time’s moment . . . .
That briefly lives and just as briefly dies.
Time’s lie
That it pretends to go on forever
Time’s truth
That it makes no promises and waits never
Time’s clock . . . .
That beats in seconds to accumulate the hours.
Time’s reality . . . .
That holds over us its unique powers.
Time’s heart . . . .
That steadily beats and never betrays its trust.
Time’s longevity . . . .
That turns all and everything to dust.
Time’s crucible . . . .
That presses upon us with its hand.
Time’s essence. . . .
That we try to catch if we can.
Time’s fictions . . . .
That continually lead us astray.
Time’s facts . . . .
That always show us the way.

With imagination and enough time, anything is possible. Even a long poem about time, itself.

If someone lands a solid blow on my nose, is that pain and suffering an illusion also?

of course, time is illusive for us, as we are unable to gain the upper hand over its flights and stoppages. It also is so difficult to describe it that only a few can put the words of it into a poem. A great work about this hard subject, John. Cheers, alex

If time is an illusion, then so is movement, and
If movement is an illusion, then so is life, and
If life is an illusion, then so is dreaming, and
If dreaming is an illusion, then nothing is possible.
I'm just fiddling around, John. My bus comes by in
5 minutes, unless it's an illusion too.

Sunrise of Thought by Bruce Humphrey

Welcome! The poems in this beautifully bound book are a result of over twenty years of observations. Observations of the world around us and on the telecommunications network. All of the hate, love, heroism, disasters, and those who help. Beautif
