I follow the enduring light of a primordial belief,
That draws its luminosity from an age-old relief.
I gather source knowledge from an ancient star,
That draws near to the heart from a distance afar.
I rely on guidance found in revelations of wisdom,
To suggest a perfect realm in a heavenly kingdom.
As I hide from all the evils of the world that I saw,
I will courage from deep subterranean wells draw.
I seek virtue to cover my actions as a frost of lace,
As fine lines of joy and sadness mark my aging face.
In the end, I hope to uncover the one true unknown,
That into the tapestry of my life was uniquely sewn.
As a solitary planet turns and the tempest gale rages,
The heart rests content and firm in the rock of ages.
This poem certainly was primordial and mystical. Based on the rock of your beliefs.
Couldn't help think of that old lyrical tune… "Rock of ages, cleft for me… Let me hide myself, in thee." if you are already that rock, you don't have to hide behind or in it for that matter
"Rock of ages cleft for me. Let me hide myself in Thee."...........You have brought back wonderful memories and have made my faith stronger with so many of your fine works! This is the first poem I read this morning! So fine!!! Thank you.
HE IS THE ONE THING, STRONG AND MIGHTY, THAT WILL 'NEVER' FAIL US...'THE' ROCK OF AGES. AMEN! WONDERFUL MORNING THOUGHT THAT I WILL CARRY WITH ME THROUGHOUT THE DAY. THANK YOU, JOHN. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH... HIS * INSPIRATIONS.
This book represents a thirty-day period of my poetry journal. Each poem addresses
the dominant thoughts occupying my mind during the early morning hours of a given
day.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
Perhaps "..Quiet Storm" will help rekindle old flames buried and long forgotten or express the love so deeply locked inside of your soul longing to be released.
Regardless of where you may be found in love this beautiful masterpiece can be
Couldn't help think of that old lyrical tune… "Rock of ages, cleft for me… Let me hide myself, in thee." if you are already that rock, you don't have to hide behind or in it for that matter
