After yesterday's 12 stanza, 10 line per stanza, poetic extravaganza, I will now go back to my shorter, and most favorite poetic form, the sonnet. Happy reading for better days!
Better Days

I have seen better days,
Without mending my ways.
Time will never stand still,
No matter how much I will.
I need to just take it slow,
Rely more on what I know.
The tides just come and go,
The moon pulls them in tow.
What about ups and downs,
Frustrating, inducing frowns.
Finally, the ins and the outs,
Am I just a person who pouts.
If better days come and go,
Surely, they will return, no?

I swear there is a cycle we go through as we age. I, for one, will have weeks of despair and then I go "like a bat out o' hell" for awhile. Oh, I pay for it that is for sure!! LOL!! This poem is reality flowing out of that fine pen of yours!
I surely hope so, John. Taking it slow is sage advice. As we age resilience seems to be what wanes incontrovertibly. Thankfully, age, for most, doesn't take away our ability to think and feel and express. Fine form and content. Peace... r
